What's the Plan?
April 5, 2024, 4:00 PM
Greetings in Christ to everyone!
I hope and pray you've had a great week.

We were blessed to have had a great Easter as we celebrated the Lord's resurrection last Sunday (03.31.24) at FCC!
I want to say a big THANKS for helping make it a special day.
Many helped with the breakfast and others helped with the worship service.
To all of you: THANK YOU so much! It was a fantastic day!
The official count was 121 in attendance. There were several guests in attendance.
My prayer is that something was done or said that sparked some HOPE in the lives of those who may not have been to a worship service in a long time.

There is always sort of a natural "let down" after a big event like Easter Sunday.
I am sure such a thing was felt by Jesus' disciples in the days following His resurrection from the dead.
The Bible says that Jesus spent 40 days after His resurrection from the dead on this earth. Most of that time he spent with His disciples.
However, they quickly realize that he is going to be leaving them very soon and going back to heaven.
Not only was that a "let down," but that had to be pretty unsettling, too.
Many questions were probably racing through the minds of the disciples.
Questions like: "WHY would Jesus leave us now that He's risen from the dead!" and "WHAT are we supposed to do AFTER He's gone!"

At the end of Matthew's gospel, Jesus gave His disciples their FINAL CHARGE found in Matthew 28:18-20...a passage that has come to be known as the Great Commission.
Jesus gives His followers some FINAL WORDS as they stand there on a mountain top.
In His final words, Jesus tells His disciples what they are to focus on and be doing while they wait for the return of their Lord and Savior.
It is a GAME PLAN for going forward. As we continue to wait for Jesus' return, this plan remains for all of us today to follow as well.
We'll be talking about what is involved with this GAME PLAN this coming Sunday.

The EMPTY TOMB has given us HOPE to carry on.
It is not, however, the END of the STORY. It's just the BEGINNING.
Come find out more this coming Sunday (04.07.24) at FCC.
We have Bible School at 9:30 am and Worship that starts at 10:30 am.

God Bless,
Greg H.
