Loving One Another
February 16, 2024, 5:00 PM

Greetings in Christ! I hope and pray that all is well.
It's been a busy week.

We had a great "Souper" Bowl Sunday last week at FCC.

Our program during morning worship featured some great music from a group known as “Two for the Cross.” In addition, Dr. Ben Oldham shared his testimony and talked about his life in college football. Everything was well received by the congregation.

In addition, we had many cans of soup and other food to donate to Lighthouse Ministries of Lexington, KY.

It was a truly SUPER day! Thanks to everyone who helped make it all possible!

I hope and pray you had a good Valentine's Day this past Wednesday (February 14).
Valentine's Day is not just a time for "love" but also for joy in knowing that God is with us and He loves us more than we could ever imagine.
We can give chocolates, flowers, and cards to the ones we love, but as followers of Christ, let us remember that love is best defined by Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross. Knowing this should motivate us to love more and more like the way Jesus loves. If we do this, we will point people to Christ.

"No one has ever seen God, but
if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." (1 John 4:12)

"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples,
if you love one another.” (John 13:35)

We are heading into late February. March is just around the corner. March brings a lot of things. The arrival of SPRING is not far away. For us here in the Commonwealth, it also means MARCH MADNESS!

This coming Sunday, February 18, I am beginning a new sermon series called "Who’s Your Five?"

When Jesus began his earthly ministry, He picked some ordinary, everyday men to be on His team. We are going to look at some of the original twelve disciples/apostles over the next few weeks as we lead up to Easter. There is a lot we can learn from these men as they accepted the call and followed Jesus.

We will have a little fun, too, as we put them together to form a very "special" basketball team.

My question for you is this: “Who’s Your Five?” I will begin to reveal my “Five” starting this coming Sunday.

I hope and pray you will be with us at FCC. Bible School starts @ 9:30 am - Worship @ 10:30 am.

God Bless,

Greg H
